A little info on me...
Now listen to the story about a man named Jeb, a poor mountaineer...barely kept his family fed... Oh wait! That was another guy.
OK real info about me...
I've been teaching at IADT since it opened in Spring of 2001, and been teaching even longer than that. Additionally I worked as a contract consultant fixing and maintaining PCs to help earn some money while going through school and now develop specialized software and websites as a consultant.
I'm trying to write some text books to better fill in the areas which we teach, as well work on my consulting business. I assist my wife with her photography business, and help out around the house. I have two sons (7.5 and 3), and a wife of over 8 years. We enjoy theme parks where my boys will ride every roller coaster they are allowed on. (3 years with minimal height doesn't get him nearly as many as he would like though.)
I like to learn more about web and mutlimedia development. Currently my topics of personal study are Flash ActionScript, XML/XSLT/XPath, and PHP.
Additionally I'm working on "remodeling" my house - aka fixing hurricane damage. While I'm at it, I'm also replacing most of my windows, adding additional insulation, etc.
For fun, I like to read (I'm a consummate reader and consumer of information - reading magazines, CNN online, Fox News online, and others), watch movies (usually on DVD - can't afford to go to theaters), play some computer games (currently into Battlefield 2142), et cetera. Below is the list of books, computer games, movies and TV shows (on DVD) which I've read/watched this year so far (2006). Just to give a brief idea about how much I do to relax.
This list is provided by using an XSLT document (bioInterest.xsl), embedded into what used to be an ASP document, which pulls its information from an XML document (interest.xml). This has been removed as PHP Version 4 doesn't support the XSLT. Click on the file names to see what puts the data together. When combined with the CSS used on the site, you can begin to see how the different elements come together.
