January 29, 2007
Good bye my dear friends,
It is with regret, and I am sure you have heard by now, that I have tendered my resignation to IADT and will no longer be a full-time employee at the school after February 2, 2007. It was a decision that did not come easy to say the least. As one of the few remaining people who (literally) opened the doors here at IADT, I have put the last 6 years of my life into the school, and leaving after such a long time is never easy.
To my friends, both students and instructors, know that you will be missed. Many fond memories have been formed over the time, and I hope that you will remember me likewise. You the students, have made each day worth while for me, and I enjoyed our time together.
I have been known for being tough and asking more than what you thought you could do. However, I asked it because I knew you were capable. I held you to high standards, because I wanted you prepared for future classes and any work that will come your way and I had confidence in you to complete what I placed before you. Most have stepped up to this challenge and grew because of it, and some have even exceeded my wildest expectations.
I always tried to give you the best education I was capable of providing to you as you deserve nothing but the best, and I hope that as you progress through school, and into the work force - that you will demand the same expectations of yourself, your teachers, and your co-workers. When you do so, you can go farther and faster than you can dream.
So for all of those who understand why I answer "42" (hint:
it's from the Hitchhikers
Guide to the Galaxy) to
many a question:
So Long, and Thanks for all of the Fish
For all others:
Warmest Regards,
Walter Wimberly
